Musica Elettronica Viva

Saturday, April 30 at 7:30pm
The Alexander Kasser Theater
Montclair, New Jersey

Musica Elettronica Viva (MEV) makes a special reunion engagement at Montclair State University (MSU) in the ongoing inaugural season celebration of the new Alexander Kasser Theater. As pioneers of free-form electronic music in the 60s and 70s, MEV merged free improvisation, street music, theater, collaborations with novice musicians, and audience participation with Moog synthesizers to revolutionize an entire musical genre.

The office of Arts and Cultural programming presents founders Alvin Curran (keyboards/laptop), Richard Teitelbaum (keyboards/laptop), and Frederic Rzewski (piano) who continue the tradition with a masterful evening of original improvisational sets.
