CHAIN_REACT_CHAIN_ Wednesday, April 27 at 7:30pm Sammlung Essl, An der Donau-Au 1 Klosterneuburg, Austria A night with electronic music and computer-generated visuals performed on laptops, featuring João Castro Pinto (Lisbon), Boris S. Hauf (Berlin), Jasch (Luzerne), and Karlheinz Essl (Vienna). This venue is the art storage of the Essl Collection, Austria's largest private collection of contemporary art. Admission: Free. The musicians: João Castro Pinto is a Portuguese artist whose work is focused in experimental electronic/electroacoustic music and experimental intermedia art. He has a deep interest in philosophy and in experimental art including video, installations, multimedia. He directs the Hertzoscópio Experimental & Transdisciplinary Arts Festival, dedicated to experimental and transdisciplinary arts. Boris Hauf, native of the UK, is a founder of Efzeg, part-time member of the Chicago bands TV Pow and Lozenge. He runs the label Shameless, a non-for-profit label limited to 20 copies a month. He performs and tours in Europe, NorthAfrica, Latin America, and the USA. Jasch, double-bass player, composer and digital artist active in the fields of electronic and improvised music, performance art, jazz and contemporary music. pieces for chamber ensembles, theatre and film. He focuses on works that combine digital sound and images, abstract graphics and live improvisation. Karlheinz Essl, Austrian composer, improviser and performer. performs on his own electronic instrument m@ze¡2, develops software environments for computer-aided composition, and creates generative sound-and-video environments Ð often in collaboration with artists from other fields. Since 1994, he curates experimental music concerts and sound installations at the Essl Collection in Klosterneuburg. |
